Thin strands of hot molten glass, spun into a single thread, are collected and accumulated as if spinning memories, and begin to show new expressions.
These strands that are all created in a similar method can yield different results, with their own unique distortions and misalignments. Similarly, one’s memories, experiences, sensations, and the physical body all aggregate to form the individual.
Emi Hirose graduated from Akita Municipal Junior College of Arts and Crafts in 2011, and Toyama Institute of Glass Art in 2013. Hirose worked at Toyama Glass Studio from 2013 to 2017, Kanazawa Utatyuyama Kogei Kobo from 2019 to 2022, and is currently a glass art teaching assistant at Toyama Institute of Glass Art. Her work can be found in the collection of Alexander Tutsek-Stiftung, Germany.
