In my work, Aerial Vistas, the flight of butterflies and the landscapes they look upon merge into one. While on long boating trips, rare miraculous moments occurred where a lonesome butterfly would be found fluttering along the waves, heralding the islands unfolding upon the horizon.
Alli Hoag works across the mediums of glass, installation, video, and performance to investigate the human desire to connect with the unknowable. She exhibits and attends residencies internationally and nationally, most recently exhibiting at the Ireland Glass Biennale 2023, and in residence at the Toledo Museum of Art. Hoag completed a BFA at University of Hawaii, graduated with a MFA from Alfred University, and currently serves as Associate Professor at Bowling Green State University.
